Two stories, An alliance

VINUM Restaurant &Wine Bar is the result of two families and two passions combining to create a unique experience. The Symingtons are a British family with a Portuguese heart. They have been producing Port and Douro wines for more than 130 years.

When they decided to launch a bold new restaurant project, they looked for co-founders with similar values. With SAGARDI, they have found the ideal creative partners who share their dedication to gastronomy and wine. The SAGARDI group is from the Basque region and was founded more than 20 years ago by Iñaki Lz. De Viñaspre. Today they run a global network of 32 restaurants, an achievement which is only possible with discipline, excellence and quality cuisine.

VINUM’s dining experience brings the best of the Douro, Trás-os-Montes, the Minho, and the Atlantic to the table. Some of our classics include smoked Alheira sausages from Mirandela, fresh fish from the Matosinhos Market, and the extremely rare VacaVelha beef from Trás-os-Montes.

Alongside these highlights of traditional Portuguese cuisine, you can taste the best of the Basque region’s cooking with modern interpretations of traditional dishes including tartars, sea bass with mushrooms, foie gras dishes, and oxtail stewed in organic red wine.



Vinum is wine. Our whole dining experience revolves around our extensive wine cellars. Our dishes are specifically designed to match the Ports and DOC wines produced by the Symington family, as well as wines produced by their friends in Portugal and from around the world who share their passion.

Wine List


VINUM is located at Graham’s Port’s fully functioning 19thcentury cellars where generations of famous Port wines have been aged in over 3,200 oak barrels. The main dining room looks directly onto the barrel cellar, with ancient pine beams supported by cast-iron pillars, which date back to 1890. It is an historic and atmospheric setting, which combines the best food the city of Porto has to offer with an immersive wine experience.

Attached to the main dining room is the Atrium – our winter garden – which provides one of Portugal and Europe’s most astoundingly beautiful views, both day and night, onto the ancient, UNESCO World Heritage, city of Porto, the Douro river and the unique Dom Luís I Bridge. Few restaurants in the world offer such an atmosphere and setting.

Wine Bar

VINUM has a Wine Bar, alongside the main restaurant, with a terrace overlooking the Douro river. In addition to an extensive wine list, with a strong selection of wines by glass, the Wine Bar and the terrace also offer a more informal menu, with lighter meals and sharing plates, with special emphasis on traditional Portuguese appetizers and oysters from the Ria Formosa lagoon in the Algarve.


The visitor centre at Graham’s has twelve rooms available, each with its own particular character and with various configurations for conferences, meetings, training events, workshops and social events. Graham’s can host from 12 up to 600 people. All events can be catered for by VINUM.
